Who Ten-Giver is

The Ten-Giver's scale technically has ten notches but in practice one button, and that button is «10». Watched it — masterpiece. Watched another — also a masterpiece. A nine in his profile means «fell just a hair short of the ideal», and an eight is nearly a scandal and a reason for friends to ask if everything's okay.

The algorithm sees him as the Prosecutor's mirror twin: a mean right at the ceiling, a distribution pressed against the right edge, two or three notches of the scale in actual use. What separates the Ten-Giver from the Enchanted Newcomer is mileage: the newcomer gives tens because he's seen little, while the Ten-Giver can have a thousand-entry list — and still nearly all of it will be 9–10.

It's tempting to file him under «dishonest scores», but the Ten-Giver has his own logic: a score for him isn't a measurement of quality but gratitude for the time spent. He doesn't compare titles to each other — he thanks each one. Naive? Perhaps. But notice: of all the classes, he's the one getting the most joy per point out of the hobby.
